I began sculpting 23 years ago and being self- taught, my minimal  training has left me free to approach clay sculpting with no  preconceptions as to how it ought to be used. My choice is Fantasy/Whimsical art, which show the diversity of different clays and how they can be incorporated with many mediums to produce interesting, beautiful and quirky creations.     Q. Ulla, tell us a little about yourself and your inspiration for your art. A. My artwork is inspired mostly by mythology, folklore, dreams and nature. Lately I’ve been digging into the pre-Christian spiritual beliefs and practices of my native Finland, and ideas from there seem endless.     ARTIST SPOTLIGHT  ZOE THOMAS CURIOUS BOUDOIR DOLLS Q. What kind of Art Dolls do you create? A. I make one of a kind art dolls. My dolls have been described as Gothic, I think because often I use black and red fabrics. Or maybe because their faces look a little sad or thoughtful?
